The basic safety course according to STCW is required for every crew member on seagoing vessels. In this course, the contents of the Basic Safety Certificate are refreshed in two days (Refresher Basic Safety). In addition to fire defence and the operation of life-saving equipment, it also includes piracy prevention, instruction in the UVV-See (accident prevention regulations) and first aid.
