Background
The maritime economy is a relatively high-revenue industry that has a high structural importance for the Northern Netherlands/Weser-Ems region, with over 500 companies and 22,000 employees in the core maritime sectors. The challenges facing the maritime economy today are complex, including the fact that the maritime industry is struggling to recruit young talent.
Career orientation and recruitment of young talent
Goals
The MariX project is designed to provide career guidance and recruit young talent in shipping and shipbuilding with the aim of generating long-term interest in maritime technologies and maritime job profiles in order to promote the future viability of apprenticeships in this sector. In addition, cross-border networking is intended to help create the largest possible pool of potential young talent and open apprenticeships, so that the larger selection can create an optimal match between employees and employers.
