The propulsion system is a decisive factor for the environmental and climate relevance of a ship.
GREENSHIPPING
GreenShipping has been one of our core topics since our foundation. Our aim is to help make shipping more resource-efficient and environmentally friendly under economic conditions. The maritime industry is facing considerable cost and innovation pressure. Important factors include the limited supply of fossil fuels, economic pressure in terms of fuel consumption and the introduction of limit values for the emission of sulphur and nitrogen oxides and other regulations.
We support companies in meeting the expected challenges with innovative technologies and strategies.

DIGITALISATION
Digitalisation is playing an increasingly important role in maritime and inland shipping. Assuming data security, improving the digital infrastructure holds great potential, e.g. in terms of the efficiency of ship operations and safety on board. In various projects, we want to drive digital and technological innovations in the region and support small and medium-sized enterprises in preparing for the expected transformations in the economy.

The maritime industry – like other sectors – is facing an acute shortage of skilled professionals. With innovative teaching materials and by organising exciting event formats and projects with schools, we strive to get young people interested in the maritime industry and show them maritime career paths for their professional orientation.

OFFSHORE WIND
The generation of renewable energy at sea is of immense importance in shaping the energy transition. In addition to the high wind power potential, the sector holds enormous opportunities for the economy in Lower Saxony and the Weser-Ems region. The construction, operation and servicing of the turbines offer diverse potential for regional value creation and employment, as well as requirements and starting points for innovation, e.g. in the development of (sustainable) components, shipbuilding, logistics and port infrastructure.
